Primo Island Lager presents: “North Shore Beach Clean Up & Winter Surf Paina“ Pre-clean up meeting at Velzyland Park at 8:00am for clean up instructions and information. The beach clean up will commence from Velzyland to Haleiwa and Malaekahana, approximately 10 + miles long, covering roadways, bike paths and over 15 plus popular surf spots and beach parks making this the largest beach clean up on the North Shore and within the State of Hawai’i. Many of the world’s top professional surfers such as Kala Alexander, Makua Rothman, Myles Padaca, Keali’i Mamala and more will be on hand to participate in this annual event, as this is their way to give back to the community who is the backbone of professional surfing. We are also asking participants to bring one (1) non-perishable food item to be donated to the Hawai’i Food Bank. We had over 300 participants last year and are confident that the same, or more, participants will come out this year. First 200 participants to bring one (1) can good will receive a free Da Hui sticker!

Multi-grammy award winning artist ELTON JOHN will be in town for one night! Yes, the original “Rocket Man,“ is coming to O'ahu to perform at Blaisdell Arena on Jan. 6, 2010. John will be performing with renowned percussionist Ray Cooper. Tickets will go on sale at 9 a.m. Saturday, November 21, 2009. John last performed two soldout shows at the Blaisdell Arena nine years ago, Blaisdell Arena events and services manager John Fuhrmann said in the news release. “We are thrilled to host his return engagement,“ Fuhrmann stated. John and Cooper will be performing John's greatest hits and more recent songs from his latest release, “Rocket Man -Number Ones.“ He has sold more than 200 million records and has 29 consecutive Top 40 hits, 35 gold and 25 platinum albums.
