Oceanic Time Warner Cable and Clear Channel Radio congratulate Clayton Makali'i of Waimanalo as the winner of the My Island Home Phone "Give Us a Jingle" contest! The 43-year-old was crowned after performing his jingle in front of a live audience at the Road Runner Music Hall. Both a judge and crowd favorite, Clayton offered the perfect combination of creativity and tunefulness. In return, he received $1,500 Best Buy gift certificate and five years of free My Island Home Phone service.
Clayton is no stranger to the music world, having played the ukulele since his involvement in the Waimanalo Keiki's group in elementary school. His love for music developed further as a member of his church choir and under Reverend James McCurdy. In 2007, he was referred to as the "Hawaiian Luther Vandross" when he won Hawaii Stars. His future plans include the release of a Hawaii album that he hopes will gain national recognition. A graduate of Kailua High School, Clayton works as a general mail clerk at the Pearl Harbor Naval Station.
My Island Home Phone "Give Us a Jingle" runners up included 2nd place Ka'imi
