Keith & Carmen Haugen
Keith Haugen is a former Honolulu Star-Bulletin writer and has written for many other news services, including AOL, Mainland newspapers, and local, national and international magazines over the past 40 years. Carmen wrote a popular "Carmen's Kitchen" column in the Mid Pacific Air inflight magazine and for ENewsHawaii. Both are teachers and Waikiki entertainers. Keith & Carmen Haugen also produce and co-host a weekly radio program on KIPO, 89.3 FM, heard also on www.hawaiipublicradio.org, or on Ocean cable television channel 842. Keith was a director and vice president of the non-profit Hawaiian Music Foundation in the 1970s and the Haugens were part of the Hawaiian renaissance. With Hap Kollmeyer, Bill Murata and Cliff Kramer, Keith was also a partner in KHBC Enterprises. And with George Kanahele, Noelani Mahoe, Fred Blaney and Mantle Hood, he was a partner in HMPI (Hawaiian Music Productions Inc.), producing trend-setting Hawaiian music concerts.
