Welcome to the End of Law School
When I first got into law school, my husband, Derek, teased me about living "Legally Blonde." Throughout the three years of getting my J.D., Derek would say, "Hey, that's just like 'Legally Blonde'!" Nevermind that I'm not blonde, rich or a pink-loving member of a sorority. Well, last month I finally had my bona fide "Legally Blonde" moment. More »

Tokkuri Tei - The Izaka-ya to Die-ya For
Rated 5.0 Stars
Our company recently completed a weight-loss competition, in which we - depending on how serious you were - stripped ourselves of the bare essentials. For some, these "essentials" included cake, pork chops, deep fried foods, or a combination of the three. For me, it was sushi! More »

The Man With the Golden Arm, Part I
On May 28th, 1989, a Hawaii man walked up to "Craps Three" and set a record that stands to this day. Stanley Fujitake held the dice for 3 hours and 6 minutes, 118 rolls. On the anniversary month of this historic event almost 19 years later Kimo's Vegas talked with the Sr. VP of the Downtown Region, John Repeti (who was the General Manager) and Casino Manager, Jeff Weiss (who was the Shift Manager) of the California Hotel when the longest roll in craps history happened. Onolicious Brie, Pear and Pecan Tart
Rated 5.0 Stars
I am always looking for a fast, easy to make, and healthy recipe. This tart combines the creamy smoothness of brie with the sweet and tartness of pears. The olive oil drizzles and the salt balance all the flavors. It takes only 10 minutes to prepare and 25 minutes to bake. This appetizer can also be served as a light lunch entree or a dessert. This recipe is a keeper. More »

Foot Pain: Plantar Fasciitis
What is Plantar Fasciitis? The plantar fascia is a dense fibrous band of connective tissue that originates from the medial heel of the foot and inserts on the bones in the forefoot. This tension band supports the medial arch of the foot and can assist in push-off when running and/or jumping.  Plantar fasciitis ("itis" = inflammation) results from the biomechanical abuse of the plantar fascia leading to microtrauma and inflammation. It is often a chronic condition that may take months to resolve.  Risk factors include: obesity, high impact training, pes cavus (high arch) and/or pes planus (flat feet). More »
