Plan Your Holiday Cooking to Save Energy
In Hawaii, cooking accounts for about 8% of the average household's energy use. The estimated energy use of an electric range is between 30 and 60 kilowatt-hours (kWh) per month, depending on usage. By comparison, a 1,500-watt microwave oven operated on high power for 20 minutes a day will use roughly 15 kWh per month. More »

Sheila Mason's Stellar Astrology for November 2009
Rated 4.3 Stars
Happy Birthday, Scorpio! If others try to push you around on the 2nd, you'll be ready to fight back. The Taurus moon is opposing your sun-sign, Scorpio and is doing so under rather harsh conditions, making you edgy, touchy, and argumentive with your partner. Ride this phase out, Scorpio and carry on until the 16th when a new moon in your sign brings you a whole new attitude, one that is lighter and happier than it's been in quite some time. More »

Ask Tanna - What's the Significance Behind the Bouquet Toss?
The tradition of the bouquet toss goes back to a time when brides were considered "lucky" to be getting married. It was in hopes that by tossing her bouquet to a sea of unmarried ladies, the brides' luck would rub off on them and they would be the next to walk down the aisle. More »

Tattooing and Plastic Wrap Bandaging... NEVER!!
Rated 5.0 Stars
The use of plastic wrap to cover fresh tattoos may have gotten its start at biker events years ago. I can remember first seeing it used in the '70's. Newly tattooed people were peeling off their bandages to show their bros their new ink so untrained artists came up with the 'see-through' idea of plastic wrap.
