HELP ME WITH RATINGS

In our last article we discussed how Noritsu has teamed up with Epson and others to bring your photography into the new century. The Noritsu 421 eco friendly printer offering incredible color, long print life and easy image ordering through the web.

In this month's article we will explore how you can use this amazing printer from the comfort of your own home. In our last article we offered our readers the option to contact us to receive free samples from this new printing system. After all the proof is in the seeing right? Many people did contact us, we sent out samples of prints showing the differences between the color space used on the Noritsu 421 vs. the colors from the same print file at your local photo finisher. If you would like to get a sample of your own, follow this link and request one. We will be happy to send it out to you too.

Right now we are going to concentrate on this great home software from Noritsu and Express Digital called Photo Center Home. The new home use software is designed to give the consumer the ability to catalog, correct, assign keywords, create slideshows, and burn CD's of all their favorite images. Oh yea did we mention that the program also allows you to print on your home computer or send your masterpieces directly to your local lab? Well you can. This means that if you want to use the Eco Friendly Noritsu 421 printer all you have to do is tell your PC Home program to send the images to Hawaiianpix and shazam! Your images will be printed right here. The amazing part is you can do all this without leaving your computer chair. The images will be delivered directly to you. There are a lot of features on this program though so let's explore some of the other aspects.

The first thing you will want to do is to import your photo's into PC Home. The program will allow you to do this pretty easily by clicking on the icon on the left side labeled “ add new photos” this will bring up the import interface.

You can import from just about any device you have attached to your computer. Once your images are imported all you need to do is browse and become creative. You can call up your favorite photos correct, crop, adjust and then print.

With simple to use icons for adjusting the size of your image, and the position within the aspect ratio of the image, users can easily customize their pictures. If you have done too many corrections and want to get back to normal, you can simply cancel your changes and return to the original image layout.

There are separate steps just as easy as this one that allow you to change your photo from color to sepia to black and white . You can print your image with a border or borderless all with a simple click through menu. Once you have gotten your image just like you want it you can choose to print it at home or send it to Hawaiianpix to have High Quality Digital Color prints made of your latest creation.

The best part behind this option is that you never have to leave home. You don't have to remember your media card when you are done at the one hour lab, heck you don't have to wait an hour. Your images will be printed and delivered directly to you. Other benefits include a product schedule that is automatically updated each time you access PCHome. This means that you will always be able to get the latest products available from our lab just by opening your PC Home Program. When you choose to send your images to the store for printing, you will see the latest picture packages, calendars, sports overlays, holiday cards and specialty items offered by Hawaiianpix. Wanna make a Holiday Card for the O6' season but don't want to stand in line at the one hour lab…. No problem you can do that here too. You can choose one of 8 different holiday greetings, add your own personalized greeting, crop and zoom your picture, and more all without having to step foot inside that crazy mall. Your cards will be sent to you complete with envelopes for mailing to the family in plenty of time for the holidays.

We all wonder about how to store, catalog and access our digital photos, but the biggest task has been getting pictures printed until now. You can download this program for FREE from our website and start printing great quality, eco friendly prints of your digital photos today.

You will want to follow the directions posted on the website to install the program on your computer, then you are ready to bring your photography into the 21st Century.

Probably the biggest question we get about this service is "how much does it cost"? You will find the pricing very competitive, as of the writing of this article, 4x6 prints are just $ .28 and you can make prints as large as 12x18 for under $6.00 . Remember those Holiday Cards a set of 25 will cost you just $19.75 . We encourage you to try this new service and to let us know how it works for you. To those of you that have already received our free test prints from the last article, we want to thank you for taking the time to take the eco printer challenge. If you are a Professional or a Pro-Am photographer check out next months article on Express Digital's line of “ Digital Darkroom” products designed specifically for professionals. - Aloha
