HELP ME WITH RATINGS

You have been proposed to and it had been a surprise. The diamond is in a simple solitaire and he says you can pick the setting of your choice. You definitely want the perfect ring to go with your diamond.  First of all, the “perfect” ring is strictly a personal aesthetic choice. Having said that anything could be perfect, but it will be to your eyes only, but what is it? Some know exactly what they want because they have been expecting it. Others have not even considered the possibility and have no idea where to start.  Anyway, there is a way for those that are in the dilemma of needing to find the setting that will enhance their diamond perfectly and also a design that they will be happy with for a really long time..

The best way to find that perfect setting is to look around you. See what others are wearing, go to stores and see the latest styles and designs. You should begin to form an idea of your personal preference for style. If it is an actual ring you see you should try it on. Sometimes a ring will look great in a picture, still looks great in the showcase but does nothing for you when you put it on your finger your finger. On the other hand if you tried on many rings and you probably determined what styles appeals to you it can be a safe bet that anything similar will look just as good even if ordering from a catalog.

The styles that have been popular in the last ten years will include vintage styles that include halos, engravings, filigree, most set with diamonds  in a way to create an antique feel.

Examples of the vintage styles

There are modern styles, ones that may emphasize a minimalist image, simple, graphic, subdued or bold. Use of channels set and flush set diamonds compliments this genre.

Then there are the classic ones that never really go out of style. They tend to be simpler diamond ring designs that appear to be neither too much nor too little. Use of baguettes and or round diamonds usually proliferate this style.

Your perfect setting could also be one that no one else has, that is, your personal creation. Those that have that yearning can have one custom made to fit their criteria. A picture, sketch or idea is the starting point for satisfying your personal expression. Computers are a great aid in helping create a myriad of styles from simple to extremely ornate, just about anything is possible if you can but envision it.

As previously mentioned your personal aesthetic preference will define your style choice. You are the only one that needs to be happy with your ring choice. Find a design that suits you perfectly and you will be as happy as a puppy.
