Like many things now days, you can find the latest news on the Internet. The web news has some distinct advantages over printed newspapers:
- You can get the news as soon as it is published. You don’t have to waiting for delivery or getting a wet paper that has been chewed up by the dog.
- You have your choice of thousands of newspapers including most major newspapers.
- Many are at no cost and supported by ads. One notable exception is the Wall Street Journal.
- It saves trees since there is no paper used. No need to haul off the excess paper for recycling too.
- Some on-line newspapers are multi-media articles with video and audio.

There are some disadvantages:
- You need to be at an Internet connect computer to read the on-line newspaper. However, something called a RSS feed is trying to fix that this issue. To get more info on how to use RSS feeds see: http://www.aroundhawaii.com/lifestyle/computers/2007-03_really_simple_syndication_service_is_really_cool.html or http://www.aroundhawaii.com/lifestyle/computers/2006-01_get_firefox.html
- Some of the on-line newspapers do not provide the full article but a summary. You may have to buy the paper for the full article.
- There aren’t as many store ads or coupons but that will change over time.
- You might not have anything to line your bird cage or wrap up fish with.
