HELP ME WITH RATINGS

I found a healthy recipe to replace ice cream that I wanted to share with my readers. Imagine eating a tasty frozen dessert that is good for you and that you can enjoy without calorie or guilt.

This recipe tastes so delicious that it is hard to tell that it is missing all the fat and sugar of regular ice cream. Here is a tasty treat that can help satisfy your cravings without adding pounds to your waist. You can feel good about serving this frozen dessert as a  healthy snack for your children. It is a great way to give them some extra servings of fruit without all the empty calories of ice cream.

ingredients needed for ice cream

Ingredients Needed:

  • Box or container of soy milk. I use vanilla or plain.
  • Plain yogurt, 2 small containers
  • Bag of frozen strawberries
  • Bag of frozen pineapple
  • Electric blender
add fruit to blender

Add yogurt to blender

Add soy milk to blender

Mix until thick in blender and well blended

Add both bags of frozen fruit into a large blender. Add the yogurt. Pour the soy milk so that it fills the empty spaces between the fruit. Whiz the blender until the consistency of soft serve ice cream. Add more milk if too thick. This only takes minutes and is ready to serve. You can change the type of fruits for variety.

Blend until thick as ice cream

Ready to serve healthy homemade ice cream

Serve immediately. If you have any left over put in a plastic container and freeze for later. Thanks to Lynn Soots for sharing this recipe. Think positive and remember to share the Aloha Spirit where ever you live.

The estimated calories for this recipe per 1 cup serving is 98 calories. Regular strawberry ice cream is over 400 calories per 1 cup serving depending on which brand you choose. Baskin Robbins Very Berry is 440 calories per 1 cup serving. Thanks for reading this column.
