Welcome to Kimo’s Vegas, the Players Edge! In the last installment of Kimo’s Vegas here on Oceanic’s Around Hawaii we shared some tips on how to save $$$ shopping in Vegas. In this edition we’ll help you save money eating, playing and stayin’ in Vegas.
Coupons, coupons, coupons… back in the day every casino had a “fun book”. You went to the Players Booth flashed your out of state ID and viola free discounts. The introduction of the “Players Card” has diminished these offers however many still offer them as an enticement to visit the casino.
Don’t forget the Vegas Golden Rules…
Rule Number One: Sign up for the casinos players’ card.
Rule Number Two: Ask… in Vegas no ask, no get (when signing up ask if they have any coupons, ask how much play is needed to get a buffet comp).
When you sign up for the Hard Rock’s, Rockstar Players Card and they’ll give you a sheet of coupons that has some discounts, match play and a free gift (when I went they gave you a shot glass just for visiting the gift shop).
One of the easiest ways to start saving $$$ is to become a member of Anthony Curtis’s, Las Vegas Advisor. For $50 you’ll have access to the most complete Las Vegas resource. You’ll get the monthly newsletter, access to the forums and a lot more including their signature “Pocketbook of Values” (POV). With 150 deals from 75 different places they’ve taken the art of cuponomy to a whole new level. Use the “$50 Palms Comp” and you’ve paid for your membership. There are also 39 coupons for match play, bonuses (like $120 for $100), 55 coupons for dinning & buffets (like 50% off your wine tab at Paris) check out the complete list of deals.
Another great way to save $$$ money in Vegas is Steve Bourie’s “American Casino Guide”, the #1 bestselling book on casino gambling. It’s got more than $1,000 in casino coupons and you’ll save even more $$$ with the book’s scoops on the best and worst casino bets and info on comps, slot clubs, slot machines, video poker and more. The books real genius is a comprehensive list of casinos in America… so the next time you’re visiting Auntie in Arizona you’ll know where all the casino’s are, how much the buffet is, if they have your favorite table game and how many slots machines you’ll find. It’s a bargain at twice the $12.75 price.
In Vegas there are coupons for everything from pole dancing lessons to weddings and saving $$$ doesn’t get much easier than this, free for the printing try these online coupon resources:
Kimo’s Vegas Tip: Always check expiration dates before using online coupons. Expired coupons are sometimes honored (call to be sure) or just search the venders site for their latest offer.
One last suggestion is to check out the different visitor magazines like “What’s On!”.
