About Me:
Raised near Diamond Head, Ron is a native born Hawaiian Chinese. His unrealized boyhood dream was to be a professional surfer. After graduating from Kamehameha High School, he attended the University of Hawaii, The Church College of Hawaii (now BYU Hawaii), and lived in Hong Kong for two and one half years.
Ron received his B.A. from BYU at Provo, Utah where he met his ski instructor and bride to be. He served as an officer in the US Army for three years. Ron’s professional careers include: Owner/partner of a commercial and multi-unit real estate development and construction company, Executive VP of a Life Insurance company and assis. compliance officer at a mortgage company.
In recent years, Ron has assisted several US companies interface with importers, obtain product approvals, open offices and start distribution in Asia and the Pacific Rim. His passion is about giving children overseas a future by teaching them English. He is a Career Counselor for TEFL international (a Non-profit org.) which has 27 Teacher Training Centers in 18 foreign countries. He is also a Hawaii Board Member of the Gandhi International Institute for Peace. His avid recreation includes: travel, videography and Kung Fu martial arts.
