Setup

When you start Outlook Express for the first time, an Internet Connection Wizard will prompt you to setup an e-mail account. Select Create a new Internet mail account and click Next.

Internet Connection Wizard

Type in your name, as you'd like it to appear on your mail. Click Next.

Enter your name

Type in your full e-mail address. Click Next.

Enter your e-mail address

Enter your Incoming mail server as pop-server.hawaii.rr.com, and your Outgoing mail server as smtp-server.hawaii.rr.com. Click Next.

Enter the server names

Under POP account name enter your Road Runner User Name and corresponding password. THIS IS IMPORTANT: The User Name you type here will determine which e-mail account you will be retrieving mail for. If you are setting up this program to retrieve mail for your Master User e-mail address, you must type in your Master User ID (e.g. alohaj001). If you are setting up this program to retrieve mail for a Sub User e-mail address, you must type in your Sub User name.

Enter your user name

Choose a "friendly" name for this e-mail account. Click Next.

Choose a friendly name

Select Connect using my local area network (LAN). Click Next then Finish to complete the setup of Outlook Express mail.

Choose connection type

Adding Additional E-mail Accounts

Outlook Express allows you to add additional e-mail accounts to your program. This is ideally suited for people who have multiple e-mail accounts (e.g. Road Runner and perhaps a sub user or work e-mail account). To add anther e-mail account to Outlook Express, go to the Tools menu and select Accounts.

Adding a second e-mail account

From the Internet Accounts window, click Add then Mail.

Adding a second e-mail account

Follow the same steps you used to setup your first account. Once complete, you can see both of your e-mail accounts in the Internet Accounts window. You may add as many accounts as you choose.

This is important: Notice that John's Master User Account is set as the Default account. This means that all mail sent from Outlook Express will be automatically sent from the Default account. If you wish to change the Default account to another account, highlight the account and click the Set as Default button (in this example below, this button is grayed out because the default account is already highlighted).
