Setting Up RR POP Access for IE3

Setting Up the External (POP) Mail Server for  Internet Mail 3.0

Note: The External Mail Server address was updated in January 2000. Please make the necessary adjustments below!

Open Internet Mail, go to the Mail menu and select Options.

(Click on image to zoom in)

In the Options window, click the Server tab. Enter your name, as you would like it to appear in your E-mail messages, and your e-mail address. Please note: the e-mail address you enter here will be the address that your recipients will see and reply to. If you type in your Road Runner address, it will look like you sent that message from Road Runner.

Next, enter your Outgoing Mail Server with your remote access provider's (e.g. dial-up ISP) SMTP server name, and your Incoming Mail Server as: pop-server.hawaii.rr.com.

Internet Mail 3.0 Options

Under Logon Settings area, enter your Road Runner User Name and Password on the appropriate lines. THIS IS IMPORTANT: The User Name you type here will determine which e-mail account you will be retrieving mail for. If you are setting up this program to retrieve mail for your Master User e-mail address, you must type in your Master User ID (e.g. alohaj001) and password. If you are setting up this program to retrieve mail for a Sub User e-mail address, you must type in your Sub User name and password.

When retrieving your e-mail remotely, it may be a good idea to have Internet Mail 3.0 save your messages on the server so that you can still download and view them from your home PC. To do so, click on the Advanced Settings... button.

Internet Mail 3.0 Settings

In the Mail Server Advanced Settings window, check the box next to Leave a copy of messages on server.

Click OK, now you’re set up to receive your Road Runner mail remotely.

Hint: You may wish to print this page for easy future reference.
