Setting Up the External (POP) Mail Server for Outlook Express 4.0
Note: The External Mail Server address was updated in January 2000. Please make the necessary adjustments below! To change an existing Outlook Express mail account to utilize Road Runner's External Mail Server, open up Outlook Express. Go to the Tools menu and select Accounts.

From the Internet Accounts window, press the Mail tab, select your current Mail Account and press the Properties button.

On the Servers tab, enter your remote Internet provider's (e.g. your dial-up ISP) SMTP server name next to Outgoing mail (SMTP). Next to Incoming mail (POP3): enter: pop-server.hawaii.rr.com. Type in your Road Runner Master User Account name and password next to Account name: and Password:.

When retrieving and viewing your Road Runner email remotely, it may be a good idea to have Outlook Express 4.0 save your messages on the server so that you can still download and view them from your home PC. To do so, click on the Advanced tab.

Check the box next to Leave a copy of messages on server and click OK. Now you’re set up to receive your Road Runner mail remotely.
