Unfortunately, for those with customized settings for "Navigate sub-frames across different domains" in Internet Explorer, this may cause the resulting links to not work. Below is how to resolve this issue.
1) Tools--> Internet Options...
Go to Tools--> Internet Options... on the Internet Explorer menu bar.

Tools--> Internet Options
2) Security TabGo to the Security Tab and, with the Internet Zone highlighted, click on Custom Level...

Security Tab
3) Security SettingsIn the Security Settings window, scroll down about half way until you see "Navigate sub-frames across different domains". Change this setting from Disable to Enable (or Prompt if you'd like to be prompted every time a site frames a page from a different domain).

Security Settings Window
4) Click OK twice
Click OK to save and close the Security Settings window and then OK again to save and close the Internet Options Window.
You may need to close and restart Internet Explorer for the settings to take place, but this should resolve your issue and you should now be able to click on any and all links on the Google Search results page.
